Introduction
With the Wistia iOS app, you can create, manage, and share your content quickly from your phone or tablet. You can also add customizations, and easily share videos with lots of other apps.
Download the App
You can download Wistia for Mobile with this handy link. It is available for iPhone and iPad on iOS 10 and higher.
The app will ask for your Camera and Microphone permissions (we need to see that smiling face! 😁), which you’ll want to accept to be able to use the app.
Logging In
Once you download the app, you’ll want to log into your Wistia account.
- Open the app and click on Sign In.
- You’ll be brought to a page to authenticate your account. Type in your Wistia credentials.
- If you are an Account Owner or Manager on multiple accounts, you’ll be prompted to choose an account to connect.
- Before you record or upload a video, you’ll need to give Wistia access to your camera & microphone.
Account Management
You can see all of your projects and their video contents in Wistia for Mobile.
Click into a project, scroll through your list of videos, and click into the one you’re looking for. You can also search for a project or video name from the top.
Copy or create a new project from right within the app. Click on the three dots in the top left corner, and choose your own adventure.
Upload
After you’ve clicked into a project you’ll see a small + sign in the bottom right corner of the project. When clicked, this will give the option to Upload or Record a video.
TO upload a video select the Upload option, and choose any video from your phone.
Once you’ve selected a video, choose Select in the top right corner, and it will begin uploading. Feel free to leave the app while the video is uploading — we’ll let you know it’s finished with a friendly banner message.
Once the video is finished uploading, you can head in and add a name, descriptions, and even some customizations.
Record
After you click into a project, you’ll see the option to Upload or Record a video. Once you’re in the project you want to record directly to, click on Record.
The app will open your camera (you might need to give permissions if you haven’t yet!), and you can begin recording right away. Choose front or back camera, portrait or landscape.
Customize
You can add a handful of customizations on your videos inside the app, on both videos you upload and record through the app, as well as your current video library in Wistia.
