Import from YouTube
Connect your YouTube account to bulk import videos into your Wistia account.
To get started with the Wistia + YouTube integration, you’ll need a YouTube account with videos in it. You can connect your YouTube account to Wistia in one of three ways:
- From the Content Library, click “New” and then the “Import from YouTube” option
- From a Project page, click “Add” and then “Import from YouTube”
- On your Integrations page
In the “New” menu in the Content Library, there is an option to “Import from YouTube.” If there isn’t an active YouTube account connected, clicking on this option will show a prompt that allows you to login with your YouTube account and connect it to Wistia.
Once you enter your YouTube credentials and successfully connect, you will be redirected back to the Content Library to select media to bring into your Wistia account.
In the “Add” menu for a Project, there is an option to “Import from YouTube.” If there isn’t an active YouTube account connected, clicking on this option will show a prompt that allows you to login with your YouTube account and connect it to Wistia.
If you are an Account Owner or Manager, you can navigate to the Integrations page (Account > Integrations). Under the “Social Media Integrations” section, there will be an option to connect to YouTube.
Clicking “Connect” will prompt you to log into YouTube and after successfully connecting, you’ll be brought back to the user profile page or head back to a project where you can Import your recordings.
Once YouTube is connected, you can select up to 100 of the most recent YouTube videos in your account to bring into any project within Wistia.
To disconnect the integration in Wistia:
- If you are an Account Owner or Manager, you can log into your Wistia account and navigate to Account > Integrations (or click here)
- Select the “Disconnect” option under the YouTube integration
- All done! This will disconnect the integration and revoke your YouTube credentials.
Wistia can only import public or unlisted YouTube videos. Private videos will not show up in the selection modal.
A YouTube account can have multiple channels associated with it, but this integration will only connect to the first channel associated with your Youtube account.
We import your videos from YouTube asynchronously. This means that there may be a delay between when you click “Import” and when they show up in your account, depending on how many videos you imported and the size of the files. If you are not seeing them after a couple of minutes, our Support Team is happy to help!
