Going Live Checklist
Read through this checklist to get ready for your Live event!
Lights, camera, live! - Set-up your hosting location with everything you need to look great on camera. If using a webcam, check out our webcam guide to look your best.
Avoid interruptions by gathering all the materials you’ll need within arms-reach. For laptop users, make sure you’re plugged-in and have plenty of juice for the duration of the event.
Close out of any applications and browser tabs you won’t be using during your event. This won’t only help your computer perform better but will also keep your virtual space clear and free of distractions. Go the extra step and restart your computer completely if you’ve got the time. There’s nothing like a fresh slate!
How’re your upload speeds? Test your network upload speeds with an online speed test like fast.com. If your connection is struggling below 3 mbps, move to a spot with better WiFi connectivity or hardwire your connection to ensure it remains stable throughout your Event. a. In an office environment? See if your IT team can get you set-up with a dedicated network. Being separated from the main network will help keep your connection stable by eliminating competing devices.
If you’re planning to share your screen during the event, check to make sure you have screensharing enabled in your browser.
Jump into the event room ahead of the show to familiarize yourself with the controls. Have your Panelists join a few minutes too early so you can practice bringing them on stage and ensure things are looking great before the event goes live.
Take a deep breath and relax. Going live can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. Just be yourself and have fun!
