Diversity, Equity,
& Inclusion at Wistia
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) is a big part of who we are. We work hard to make sure everyone is respected, treated equally, and celebrated for who they are. Improving DE&I is an ongoing mission for us, and we’re always looking for ways to make Wistia a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
What we’re doing
In early 2023, we laid out key target results for our People, Commercial, and Product teams to meet our ambitious goals. This shifted our focus from growing our team to supporting an inclusive, high-performance culture that lets everyone thrive and do their best work.
The pillars of our plan
We put DE&I at the heart of everything we do, from how we connect and collaborate with each other to how we build our product. These three pillars are the foundation of our efforts:
Building the Team
We make sure that our team is as diverse as our community at every level, and we have equitable and inclusive hiring practices. We give everyone throughout the company a fair chance to grow, and we welcome and value all perspectives.
Working Together
We approach every task and interaction with an openness to learn and deep respect for our peers. We’ve built up strong anti-racism and anti-bias muscles and systems and we have a Code of Conduct in place to hold our team accountable.
Creating Social Impact
Our product, website, and content are inclusive and accessible. We amplify diverse voices and perspectives. We make a point to be transparent, and we openly share our DE&I and anti-racism work.

Our progress
When we put together our 2022 DE&I report, we looked at racial diversity across the company. We found a 14% rise across the company and in leadership positions from 2020 to 2022. As we entered 2023, we focused on improving gender diversity across the organization. Here are the areas where we did well and the areas we need to work on.
