We’ve given the organization tools within Wistia a major overhaul! Now, you can move videos across projects without losing your stats or customizations.
With Move & Copy, we’ve made the process of organizing your videos much more flexible. Organize your videos according to your filmmaking workflow, your organizational structure, or whatever suits you! If you don’t get it right the first time, we’ve made it much easier to rearrange or start over.
How to organize your videos
If you have a Wistia account, you can dive in now and try Move & Copy!
Head to any project where you have admin access, click Project Actions, then Move & Copy.
A panel will appear on the left of the page with a list of projects and videos. From there, you can browse your projects or search by project or video name.
Drag videos from left to right or from right to left between projects. When you move a video, its stats and customizations are retained, and all embeds will continue working properly. It’s still possible to copy a video, too, if you’d like a fresh set of stats!
Selecting one or more videos:
The same commands you’ve always been able to use to select videos within a project also apply when moving or copying videos:
- Select one: Click
- Select multiple: Ctrl or ⌘ + Click
- Select multiple: Shift + Click
Once you have at least one video selected:
- Move: Drag & Drop
- Copy: Ctrl or ⌘ + Drag & Drop
If you have multiple accounts and move a video from one to another, stats will be reset, but embeds will continue to work.
Read more about how to Move & Copy videos in the documentation.
Give it a try and let us know what you think! We’d love to hear about your video organization suggestions or best practices in the comments.
