DEIB at Wistia
Building a Better Workplace
We're embedding DEIB principles into our culture and how we operate to create an environment where anyone can do their best work regardless of their background, identity, or journey.
Our vision
We’ve defined what diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging look like in practice at Wistia, and what our vision of success looks like:

Diversity
Our team represents a broad range of identities and backgrounds. We embrace diversity of all types as a strength, which shows up in how we solve problems, build our product, and provide solutions for customers.
Equity
Factors like background or identity are never predictive of a Wistian's success or failure. Our processes are consistent and fair across hiring, mobility, compensation, feedback, recognition, and performance management.
Inclusion
We create an environment where all perspectives are seen and heard. Wistians feel empowered to contribute, share opinions, and provide feedback within their teams and across all levels of the organization.
Belonging
Wistians can express themselves without fear of exclusion or judgment. Contributions are not just heard but sought out and valued. Belonging is a successful outcome of Inclusion.
A current snapshot of the team
Representation is important to our success. When people from diverse backgrounds come together, we create better experiences for our customers. While there’s no finish line to this work, we publish the makeup of our team to hold ourselves accountable and share our progress.

Our progress
In 2025, our data surfaced some clear insights. Our hiring classes continue to reflect strong representation, and our belonging scores show we're creating a culture where everyone can thrive. But our team's overall diversity isn't where we want it to be yet, especially at the Director+ level.

Gender diversity
ON TRACK
We've maintained strong gender parity with 44% of Wistians identifying as a woman, different than what is listed, or non-binary.

Belonging scores
ON TRACK
Our employee engagement surveys continue to show positive results for individuals feeling like they belong at Wistia. In 2025 we were proud to see 89% of our team say they felt a sense of belonging here.

Director+ diversity
NEEDS WORK
While our Director+ group shows 50% representation by non-dominant identities across combined gender and ethnicity, BIPOC representation is currently at just 16%.
Ways we support each other
At Wistia, we’re creating a culture of inclusivity that embraces intersectionality and encourages allyship. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an important part of that culture. ERGs have Slack channels and resources for group activities so Wistians of shared identities can connect and empower one another.
